Who powers your house?
Duke Energy, or a co-op.
Most in-town addresses around Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Durham, Hillsborough and Pittsboro are served by Duke Energy Progress. Many rural addresses are on an electric membership cooperative instead, such as Piedmont EMC in rural Orange County or Central EMC in much of Chatham. Your bill says which. It matters for outages, meter work and service upgrades.
